Nobody likes saying "bedbugs" out loud.
Pest calls are often awkward, sometimes urgent, and full of questions about kids and pets. AlloPlace answers them in English or French, without fuss, books the inspection and explains the prep you've written down.
The calls you get
Mice in the fall, once it gets cold. Ants in the spring. Wasps and hornets all summer. Bedbugs any time, often from someone who's embarrassed to say it. Cockroaches in apartment buildings, which means landlords and property managers calling about several units at once. Restaurants and food shops asking about regular service. And nearly everyone asks: is the treatment safe for my cat?
What it does for you
Keeps it matter-of-fact. It asks what they've seen, where and for how long, without making a caller feel judged. You get a clear summary in your inbox.
Answers safety questions from your sheets. Upload your prep instructions and product information. It answers from those. If the answer isn't there, it says so and takes a message instead of guessing.
Books inspections and first visits. It offers open times from your Google Calendar and books one. A confirmation text goes out, and a reminder the day before if the caller agrees, so the client has time to do the prep.
Handles landlord calls. Building address, unit numbers, who to contact for access. All in one message for the office.
Gets through wasp season. In August, everyone calls at once. It takes several calls at the same time.
A typical call
It's an August afternoon in Drummondville. A caller found a wasp nest above the back door, and one of their kids is allergic. Your rules say that any nest near a door in a home with an allergy gets the first open slot, so AlloPlace offers tomorrow morning and books it. It also tells the caller, in your words, to keep the door closed and use another entrance until then.
TBD: replace with a real call once a customer agrees.
Rules you might write
- "If someone has been stung and is having trouble breathing, tell them to call 911."
- "Bedbug treatments always start with an inspection. Never quote a treatment price on the phone."
- "If the caller is a landlord or property manager, get the address and unit numbers and take a message for the office."
- "We don't remove wildlife like raccoons or skunks. Say so politely."
Good to know
- Calendar or software: books into Google Calendar only. There's no connection to pest-control routing software or to Jobber. Talk to us before you sign up.
- Recurring contracts: it books single visits. Recurring service schedules stay in whatever you use now.
- Website: the chat widget answers the same questions on your site, for people who'd rather type "bedbugs" than say it.
