Your hands are busy. That's the job.

You're halfway through a fill, your client's hand is in yours, and the phone won't stop. AlloPlace answers in English or French, tells callers what a gel set costs and how long it takes, and books them in when your calendar has room.

The calls you get

"Do you take walk-ins?" "How much for gel removal and a new set?" "How long does a full set take?" "Can I get a pedicure at 6 tonight?" "Do you do nail art, or just colour?" Mostly prices and times, asked over and over.

And some calls aren't from people at all. In the US, Google is testing a feature called "Ask for me", where Google's AI phones nail salons to ask about prices and availability for someone who searched. Businesses can opt out. If you don't, AlloPlace answers those calls like any other caller, from the prices you've given it. More on AI agent calls

What it does for you

Gives the price you set. Gel, acrylic, dip, pedicures, removal, art. It answers from your list. If someone asks about a design you haven't priced, it says so and takes their number.

Says your walk-in policy the same way every time. You decide when walk-ins work. It tells callers, and suggests booking when you're full.

Books into Google Calendar. It offers open times and books the length you set, so a polish change doesn't take a full-set slot.

Takes the awkward calls to you. A client unhappy with a set from Tuesday gets a proper message with her name, number and what went wrong, not a guess from the phone.

Sends a reminder. If the client agrees, she gets a text about 24 hours before.

A typical call

Thursday evening in Brossard. A caller wants to know what gel removal plus a new gel manicure costs, and whether there's room Saturday. AlloPlace gives the price from your list, offers 11:00 or 1:30, and books 1:30. She says yes to a reminder text. You find the booking in your calendar when you finish your last client.

TBD: replace with a real call once a customer agrees.

Rules you might write

  • "We take walk-ins Monday to Thursday. On weekends, ask people to book."
  • "Removing a set from another salon is $TBD extra. Mention it when people book a new set."
  • "For groups of four or more, take a message. I'll call back to plan it."
  • "If someone's unhappy with their nails, apologize, take their number and say I'll call today."

Good to know

  • Calendar or software: it books into Google Calendar only. If you book in Fresha, Vagaro, Booksy or Square Appointments, it can't see those slots, but it can still answer, give prices and take messages. If you're not on Google Calendar and need booking, talk to us first.
  • French: it speaks French and English and switches when the caller does. More on that
  • Payments: it doesn't take deposits or card numbers.
