Let your brokers do the broking.
Plenty of calls to a brokerage are simple: hours, where to send a document, who handles my file. AlloPlace answers those in English or French, puts the urgent ones through, and leaves quotes and advice to your team.
The calls you get
"I just had an accident. What do I do?" "I'm picking up a car on Saturday, can I add it?" "Can I get a quote on my house?" "My landlord needs proof of insurance." "Who's my broker again?" "Why did my renewal go up?" Some are routine. Some are someone standing on the side of the road. Your team needs to know which is which before they pick up.
What it does for you
Puts urgent calls through. You decide what's urgent, in plain words. Those calls go to the broker on duty, or the caller gets the insurer's claims number you've listed.
Takes quote requests without quoting. It collects the details you ask for and passes them on. It never gives a price, and never says whether something is covered.
Routes callers to their broker. If the caller names their broker, it can transfer to that person's line or take a message for them.
Books reviews and renewal meetings. Appointments go into Google Calendar at the times you allow.
Writes it all down. Every call has a recording, a transcript and a one-line summary in your inbox.
A typical call
Saturday morning in Laval. A caller has just bought a used car and wants to drive it home today. He asks whether he's covered. AlloPlace doesn't answer that. Your rule says same-day vehicle changes go to the on-call broker, so it tells him it's putting him through and transfers. The broker picks up with the caller's name and the car already in the summary.
TBD: replace with a real call once a customer agrees.
Rules you might write
- "Never say whether something is covered. Say a broker will confirm."
- "If someone is reporting a claim after hours, give them the insurer's 24-hour claims line from our list."
- "If someone needs to add a vehicle today, transfer to the on-call broker."
- "For quote requests, get name, phone, email, what they want insured and their renewal date. No prices."
Good to know
- Calendar or software: books into Google Calendar only. Outlook isn't supported yet, and it doesn't connect to broker management or policy systems, so it can't look up a policy. Talk to us first if you need either.
- Your obligations: we don't claim AlloPlace meets any insurance regulator's requirements. Check with whoever handles compliance at your brokerage before you go live.
- French: it switches to the caller's language. More on that
